Goal
Empowering women with disabilities for conducting the self-advocacy of the rights to sexual and reproductive health.
Geographic area: Tbilisi, Imereti, Samegrelo and Adjara regions.
Result
- The awareness of women and girls with disabilities in target regions on the rights to sexual and reproductive health is increased as well as the capacities of the community activists to advocate for their own rights in terms of sexual and reproductive health;
- For the first time in Georgia, the public discussions on “Sexuality and Disability” is started;
- The access of persons with disabilities to the family planning services and education on sexual and reproductive health are considered in the State Action Plan of 2018-2020 on Human Rights;
- A small-scale study review is prepared on “Gender, sexuality and disability: barriers and perspectives”.
